Tilbury Douglas regional chief joins Caddick to head civils arm
Caddick Construction has lured Tilbury Douglas Construction regional director Paul Ellenor to take up the role as managing director of its civil engineering arm.
Ellenor brings almost four decades of industry experience, having spent the bulk of his career with Interserve and Tilbury Douglas, where he most recently held the role of North East regional director.
He began his career as a trainee quantity surveyor in 1987 and progressed through site, management and pre-construction leadership roles, building extensive experience across design and build delivery.
In his new role at Caddick Civil Engineering, Ellenor will lead all aspects of the business, with a clear brief to strengthen work-winning, sharpen operational delivery, drive commercial performance and maintain high standards on health and safety.
While the civils business already benefits from a strong internal pipeline through the wider Caddick group, the appointment signals a clear push to grow third-party workload and broaden its regional reach.
Paul Dodsworth, group managing director of Caddick Construction Group, said the move was central to plans to replicate the company’s established Yorkshire civils model across the North East, with longer-term ambitions to expand into the North West and Midlands.
Based in North Yorkshire, Ellenor will split his time between Caddick’s Wakefield head office and its North East base in Durham, which opened in 2025 as part of the contractor’s planned regional expansion.
