European construction giant Strabag has acquired Cambridgeshire based structural steelwork specialist Crofton Engineering Limited.

Crofton has been in business since 1953 and will continue to operate from its existing premises in Linton under the Crofton name and while retaining the senior management team.

Ian Burford , Managing Director (Technical), Strabag UK Build Subdivision said: “This acquisition is part of our growth strategy and allows us to leverage our global-local model,  combining Strabag’s broad resources and expertise with Crofton’s deep knowledge and wealth of  experience in steel fabrication, installation and specialist applications.
