Statom lands frame deal on Kier Barlinnie prison job

Statom Group North has been appointed by Kier to deliver a comprehensive groundworks and RC structures package at its £684m Glasgow super prison job.

Statom will be working on the Central Facilities Building, Front of House Building and several other ancillary buildings as part of work to replace HMP Barlinnie.

Careys was part of the original Kier project team as groundworks and civil engineering subcontractor.

Key components of the new Statom deal include:

  • Groundworks and RC Structures
  • Underslab and external drainage works
  • Extensive underslab gas and waterproofing installation
  • Superstructure walls, cores and slabs
  • Precast stairs and structures
  • All craneage for the works
  • Coordination with other subcontractors working on piling, precast elements, structural steel and externals
