Multiplex has settled on a final price to deliver a luxury 179-home scheme at the site of the former St John’s Wood Barracks in Westminster, London.
Totalling 5.5 acres, the St John’s Wood Square development will transform the site previously occupied by the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery into a super prime central London scheme.
Homes include 11 townhouses, 109 private and 59 affordable flats, spread across nine buildings rising from three to six storeys.
The works include sensitive restoration of the Grade II listed Riding School building, preserving the heritage of the site.
Multiplex has been working up the scheme under a pre-construction services agreement since September 2023, and will now move to shell and core construction.
This is scheduled to complete in December 2026, with the fit-out element finished by December 2028.
St John’s Wood Square Development Limited is targeting WELL Platinum and BREEAM Excellent certification for the shell and core construction.
Callum Tuckett, UK Managing Director at Multiplex, said: “The St John’s Wood Square scheme is one of the most prestigious and eagerly anticipated residential developments in central London, so Multiplex is understandably proud to continue our involvement into the next stages of construction.”
