McLaughlin & Harvey lands £33m waste centre

McLaughlin & Harvey has been appointed main contractor on a £33m waste transfer station in north London.
The London Borough of Barnet Council has awarded the deal for construction of Geron Way Waste Transfer Station with work set to start this month.
McLaughlin & Harvey will deliver a new 9,000 sq m waste transfer station for the North London Waste Authority (NLWA).

Councillor Alan Schneiderman, Barnet Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change and Cricklewood Ward Member, said: “The new Waste Transfer Station, which will manage waste and recycling for Barnet and six other North London boroughs, features modern and environmentally friendly elements such as living roofs, as well as noise and odour controls.
“These are not only impressive but also vital to us, and the design supports our commitment to achieving the highest sustainability standards while enhancing biodiversity.”
