East London-based concrete specialist Kilnbridge has appointed Darren Wickins as construction director.

Wickins joins to head up the cut and carve, structural modifications and repurposing business after a successful career spanning over 25 years with demolition and concrete specialists Keltbray, McGee and Aspect.

His appointment comes at a time when use of cut and carve demolition has grown more popular, particularly in London.

Clients and planning authorities want to see more repurposing and reconstruction of existing buildings in a bid to reduce the carbon footprint of redevelopment schemes.

Wickins’ remit is to manage existing projects and expand into all sectors offering a complete package by integrating with Kilnbridge’s engineering, design and RC frame building expertise.
