Graham lands £42m Woking road upgrade

Contractor Graham has been awarded the contract by Surrey County Council to deliver improvements to the A320 north of Woking.

The key infrastructure project has been funded through a £41.8m grant from Homes England’s Housing Infrastructure Fund.

The scheme aims to increase capacity and improve traffic flow on the stretch of road between Chertsey and Ottershaw to unlock future housing developments across Runnymede.

The A320 North of Woking scheme consists of major upgrades to four key junctions and two road connections and will introduce significant safety and accessibility enhancements, including wider footpaths and cycleways, enhanced pedestrian crossing points and better access to public transport.

The contract has been awarded under the GEN 5 Southern Highways and Civils Framework.

Gareth McLaverty, Project Director at GRAHAM, said: “The A320 North of Woking project is a vital infrastructure investment that will not only improve safety and traffic flow but also unlock thousands of much-needed new homes in the region.

“We look forward to playing our role in delivering this high-quality infrastructure scheme that will benefit both residents and businesses in the region for years to come.”
