Galliford Try has been picked to deliver a £60m munitions handling facility at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

The job will be delivered for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation on behalf of the United States Air Force, which operates from the RAF Lakenheath base.

The scheme includes three new munitions handling buildings covering storage, testing, maintenance and administrative functions.

It marks the first project Galliford Try will deliver directly for the US Air Force, extending its defence portfolio in the eastern region.

The contractor has previously completed work at RAF Marham and RAF Coningsby.
