Eight ambitious companies from southwest Scotland are taking part in the latest highly successful hub South West, Building for Growth (BfG) programme which, over eight weeks, empowers them to learn from business experts, develop relationships with non-competing peer businesses, and engage directly with Tier 1 Contractors.
hub South West, the well-established public-private partnership of local authorities, NHS, blue light services and numerous leading construction industry Tier 1 building contractors, is guiding the eight industry-related businesses in their quest to win more, high-quality work from Tier 1 contractors undertaking projects in the region.
The eight participating businesses are: Parker Technical Services from Uddingston, Airdrie’s Claymore Training, Anderson Property from Hamilton, Emtec Group from Kilmarnock, and Dumfriesshire based businesses James G Findlay, Shaw Contract Group, L Murray Builders, and Qubiti Limited.
The online programme began on Thursday, 23 September and will run through until Thursday, 11 November with eight half day morning sessions, and will cover such topics as Leadership and Management, Business Strategy, Tendering and Procurement, Digital Marketing and Social Media, Cyber Security and Business Finance as well as enabling Ongoing Business Support and Development.
Ultimately, the knowledge gained from the BfG programme will help participating companies build their capability such that they can enter commercially fulfilling relationships with hub South West’s Tier 1 Contractors.
The final session will engage all participants with a series of delegate presentations followed by one-to-one meetings with senior representatives of Tier 1 contractors, after which an informal awards ceremony will be held to announce the BfG champion business by a panel of judges.
Mark Houston, Supply Chain Development Manager at hub South West, said: “Our Building for Growth programme, now in its twelfth iteration from which over 100 local businesses have already graduated, has proven itself to be an excellent platform from which aspiring local businesses have derived huge commercial advantages.
“We look forward our BfG participants learning all they can from the eight weeks and look forward to hearing how the knowledge they gained successfully transformed their offerings to Tier 1 contractors throughout the southwest Scotland region.
