A construction worker died following an accident at a new housing site in Essex on Monday.

The agency worker was killed while working on a job run by Rose Builders in West Bergholt near Colchester

The firm is building a collection of detached family homes in the village.

A Rose Builders statement said:  “We confirm that an incident took place on one of our construction sites in West Bergholt on 7 April 2025, which tragically resulted in fatal injuries to an agency worker.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by what has happened and are cooperating fully with the Police and Health and Safety Executive.

“The thoughts of everyone at Rose are with his wife and family. We will look to support them as best we can at this sad and difficult time.”
