Pre-engineered construction business Building with Frames has launched a new venture, backed up by support from the Regional Growth Fund. The funding has helped the Truro-based company launch Building with Boxes, aimed at helping businesses expand by using energy-efficient outdoor space. CBI figures show order books are full and firms are ‘ramping up production to meet demand’ Manufacturing order books are at their fullest since the start of the financial crisis while car production has also leapt ahead, according to the latest figures from CBI. Latest CBI figures show that 28% of firms reported total order books above normal in September, and that 19% said they were below. The positive balance of 9% was the highest since August 2007. This included a 6% positive balance for export orders, reversing a negative in figures recorded for last month. LAND surrounding the Silverstone motor racing circuit is set for major development after a £32 million deal that will see the construction of warehousing, hotels and a technical college. Owner the British Racing Drivers’ Club has completed a 999-year lease deal on the Silverstone industrial estate and development land around the circuit (marked in orange) on which planning permission has been granted. Commercial property company MEPC has paid £32 million for the lease. The payment will enable BRDC to pay off its loans from Lloyds Banking Group and Northamptonshire County Council. Official figures showed output growth for the industry of 2.2 per cent in July compared with the previous month, 2 per cent up on the previous year, raising hopes that it will fuel faster expansion of the wider economy between July and SeptemberThe volume of new orders is estimated to have jumped 19.8 per cent between the first and second quarter.
