Figures released by HMRC have revealed three sectors continue to dominate and reap the majority of R&D Tax Credit benefits including ‘Manufacturing’, ‘Professional, Scientific & Technical’ and ‘Information and Communications’. In light of the Chancellor’s announcement last week to support SMEs focusing on research and development, it is expected more UK companies, including within the Construction sector, will be driving innovation and be in a position to apply for more R&D Tax Credit relief immediately. Peel L&P has today announced that a planning application has been submitted for the next major development at Liverpool Waters. The application submitted by Peel L&P and Your Housing Group (YHG) is for a 31 storey, residential development, called Patagonia Place, which consists of 278 homes and is located at Princes Dock, one of five neighbourhoods at the £5 billion waterfront development which has already seen four new residential schemes undertaken. Liverpool Waters will transform 60 hectares of historic docklands and is the biggest single regeneration project in the history of Liverpool. The development will offer 2,000,000 sq.m of floorspace which will include 9,000 residential homes, 315,000 sq.m. of business space and 53,000 sq.m. of hotel and conference facilities.
