Bouygues E&S contracting arm reborn as Equans Sci-Tech
Bouygues Energies & Services Contracting arm has been rebranded as Equans Sci-Tech in a move designed to target the UK’s fast-growing life sciences, technology and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The business, now fully integrated into Equans following its acquisition by Bouygues Group in October 2022, will operate as a single-source specialist for mission-critical environments from bases in Glasgow and Manchester.
The refreshed brand will focus on laboratories, cleanrooms and advanced manufacturing sites, as major pharmaceutical, aerospace and tech clients look to de-risk delivery and tighten operational performance across the UK.
Equans Sci-Tech is positioning itself around an “inside-out” delivery model focused on three stages – define, design and deliver – aimed at aligning facilities with long-term operational needs rather than simply executing pre-set briefs.
The contractor said it would embed value engineering across the lifecycle of projects to convert capital spend into measurable operational return, with an emphasis on cost and time certainty, reduced total cost of ownership and future-proofed modular designs.
Steven Weir, CEO of Equans Sci-Tech, said: “Equans Sci-Tech is defined by its ability to bring certainty to the most complex environments.
“Our mission is to be a specialist partner that doesn’t just respond to pre-determined requests, which often don’t actually meet clients’ needs, but actively develops solutions and advises clients to ensure their vital strategic facilities are built to meet their requirements and suitable for long-term success.”
