Barbour ABI Teams up With NHIC and FMB to Launch the Home Improvement Partnership
LONDON, APR 21, 2021 –
Leading construction industry intelligence provider, Barbour ABI, has joined forces with the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) and the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) to form the Home Improvement Partnership. The partnership is intended to shine a light on trends within the home improvement industry and ensure businesses from every part of the supply chain have access to data that will help them to plan for the future, develop their offering and invest in the areas that are likely to see growth going forward.
Barbour ABI is a market leader in construction industry intelligence and has been producing an annual Home Improvement Report for several years. This in-depth report examines the industry in detail, highlights the national appetite for home improvements and identifies the type of projects that are currently in vogue.
The Home Improvement Partnership will see Barbour ABI also produce a monthly or quarterly summary on top of the annual deep dive and these reports will be made available to all members of the NHIC and FMB.
Chief Economist at Barbour ABI, Tom Hall, said: “We are committed to improving everyone’s ability to make strategic decisions in an under-served industry that will be critical to meeting the goals of the future, particularly if we are to achieve energy reduction targets.
Anna Scothern, CEO of NHIC, said: “Barbour ABI is the leading construction industry intelligence provider in the UK and gives robust, verified data on the home improvement industry. Their team of professionals carry out thousands of calls with people in the industry every year and use their knowledge and expertise to make assessments about the industry and likely trends that we need to be aware of. We are thrilled to be partnering with them on this initiative and look forward to our members benefitting from their knowledge.
Brian Berry, CEO of the FMB, said: “Our members, many of whom are small, family businesses, wouldn’t normally have the resources to commission bespoke reports so this partnership with Barbour ABI is very exciting and will be hugely beneficial to our members and the wider construction industry.
Barbour ABI’s annual Home Improvement Report examines to what extent people are extending or refurbishing their properties and what type of projects are most popular in a given geographical location or type of property. The additional report, the Home Improvement Refresh, will be a monthly or quarterly update that will be produced in an easily digestible format that will summarise the key findings over the shorter time-scale.
